About Cresalia Diving Service

Hi, I’m Peter Cresalia and I’m a seasoned diver with over a decade of professional experience servicing vessels of all sizes from small yachts to big commercial fishing boats.

Unlike some divers who tack on a hull inspection service, I’m a trained expert who’s seen countless hull issues and can give you the right recommendations for quick and cost-effective solutions.

Being a Marin County native with six generations of family history tied to this region, I feel deeply connected to its community and take great pride in supporting its boaters.

If you need a consultation or quote, don’t hesitate to reach out with a quick text, call, or email.

Unmatched, comprehensive inspections

Our hull inspections are thorough and tailored to each customer’s needs. Some customers are looking to purchase a new boat and need a quick hull inspection. While others are experiencing issues with their steering and need an inspection before hauling their boat out. The inspections are usually completed in 1-3 hours and include a detailed report at the end with recommendations on how to fix potential problems.

Our examination checks for common issues such as:

Our Process

Here’s what you can expect from every appointment

Hull Fouling

Presence of marine growth such as barnacles, algae, or mollusks on the hull, which can increase drag, reduce fuel efficiency, and impact the vessel's speed.

Corrosion

Corrosion on the hull, shaft, and propeller.

Blistering and Osmosis

Formation of blisters and osmotic damage caused by water intrusion into the hull, potentially leading to structural issues and reduced buoyancy.

Impact Damage

Dents, scratches, or other damage caused by collisions with underwater obstacles, docks, or other vessels.

Cracks and Delamination

Cracks in the hull or delamination of composite materials.

Anodes Condition

The condition of sacrificial zinc anodes. If these are corroded or depleted, the hull may be more susceptible to corrosion.

Through-Hull Fittings and Seals

Inspection of through-hull fittings, valves, and seals for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks that could lead to water ingress.

Paint and Coating Integrity

Examination of the condition of antifouling paint and other coatings, as deterioration can reduce their effectiveness in preventing fouling and corrosion.

Propeller and Shaft Inspection

Assessment of the propeller and shaft for damage, misalignment, or fouling that can affect the vessel's propulsion system.

Rudder Issues

Inspection of the rudder for damage, misalignment, or excessive play, as these issues can impact the vessel's maneuverability.

  • There are many service providers out there and we encourage you to pick one you’re comfortable working with. Clients choose us because of our decades of diving experience, our commitment to give back to Marin County’s community, and our professional customer service.

We’re easily reachable and are happy to give technical guidance on any questions you might have. We give accurate quotes and are transparent about our work — so you don’t have to worry about surprise charges. In short, we provide the peace of mind to our clients that their boat is being looked after with utmost care and attention.

  • We only provide underwater vessel hull inspection at this time. For most scenarios such as a routine checkup or assessing a boat’s condition for purchase, this can be a sufficient, convenient, and quick solution without the hassles and costs of doing a full haul out.
